Poland, officially the Republic of Poland, is a country in Central Europe. It is divided into 16 administrative provinces called voivodeships, covering an area of 313,931 km². Poland has a population of over 38 million and is the fifth-most populous member state of the European Union. 

The Czech Republic is an Eastern European country which borders Germany, Slovakia, and Poland. The country is a member of the European Union and its 10 million people enjoy a relatively advanced economy with high living standards.  

Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Its capital, Budapest, is bisected by the Danube River. Its cityscape is studded with architectural landmarks from Buda’s medieval Castle Hill and grand neoclassical buildings along Pest’s Andrássy Avenue to the 19th-century Chain Bridge. 

Italy, a European country with a long Mediterranean coastline, has left a powerful mark on Western culture and cuisine. Its capital, Rome, is home to the Vatican as well as landmark art and ancient ruins. 

Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. 

Kosovo is located in Europe and has a population of 1.8 million. The capital city of Kosovo is Pristina which has a population of about 210,000. About 90 percent of Kosovo’s two million people are ethnic Albanians, most of whom are Muslim. The remaining 10 percent are mainly Orthodox Christian Serbs living in northern Kosovo, near the border with Serbia. 

Montenegro is a small country located on the Adriatic Sea in Southeastern Europe. Over 600,000 people live in Montenegro, which is a mountainous country with a narrow coastal plain. The primary languages of Montenegro are Montenegrin and Serbian, with Montenegrin designated as the official language. 

Macedonia is a landlocked country on the Balkan Peninsula in Southeast Europe. Although Macedonian is the official language, five other languages are widely spoken and in some regions are co-official languages. 

Norway is a Scandinavian country encompassing mountains, glaciers and deep coastal fjords. Oslo, the capital, is a city of green spaces and museums. Preserved 9th-century Viking ships are displayed at Oslo’s Viking Ship Museum. Bergen, with colorful wooden houses, is the starting point for cruises to the dramatic Sognefjord. 

Denmark is a Scandinavian country comprising the Jutland Peninsula and numerous islands. It's linked to nearby Sweden via the Öresund bridge. Copenhagen, its capital, is home to royal palaces and colorful Nyhavn harbor, plus the Tivoli amusement park and the iconic “Little Mermaid” statue. 

Lithuania is one of the three Baltic States in Northern Europe. It borders the Baltic Sea, Latvia, Belarus, and Poland. Nearly 3 million people live in the country, and their official language is Lithuanian. 

Belgium is a small country, sandwiched between the Netherlands and France, and also bordered by Germany, Luxembourg, and the North Sea. The country has a population of 11 million people and a land area roughly the size of Maryland, making it one of the most densely populated countries in Europe.

Located in Southeastern Europe on the Black Sea, Romania is separated from Bulgaria by the storied Danube River. The country has a population of 20 million and its capital city of Bucharest is the 6th largest city in the EU. 

Slovakia, which is officially known as the Slovak Republic, is a desirable location for expatriates due to its high-income economy, rising living standards, and resilience in the face of a relatively recent financial crisis.
